Jumping Boobs

Boobs it seems are developing a mind of their own. They are jumping out of dresses at the least provocation.

Now we have Jennifer Lopez causing a stir by unwittingly exposing a breast at Mallorca, Spain.

Not being a woman I really would not know if I would be unaware of my dishabille, that is, if one of my breasts or boobs, if you wish, popped out while I was having a grand time at a party. Unfortunately for celebrity Tara Reid her shoulder strap slipped during a photo shoot and for long agonizing seconds she stood unaware exposing her left breast to the paparazzi. One of the ladies present jumped up and covered her realizing that Tara had no idea about her partial nakedness. The press had a great time and printed the videos and photographs despite her blushed appeals not to.

That is certainly not the first or only time a boob has developed a desire to be free of all encumbrances. Remember Janet Jackson. When I look at that picture of her with the exposed culprit and Justin looking a bit shocked, I get goose bumps and ask why did Justin Timberlake pull at her dress? Wasn’t that pre-planned? As it turns out, it was, but he pulled too hard taking away a piece of her red lacey bra. Five hundred thousand people complained. Even the First Lady felt it was inappropriate. CBS was fined five hundred and fifty thousand dollars. Americans! Come on. They roam around almost naked in summer and are shocked by a glimpse of breast. You gotta be kidding!

Sometimes people do suggest that dress malfunction is stage managed to create a media brouhaha.

Last year it was Katherine Heigl (TV actress) whose dress developed a mind of its own and threatened to expose again the left breast till Billy Bush held the strap of her red dress while she accepted her award.

Well if we try to think of something like that happening to a man in public the only recent such, ahem, development we have seen maybe congressman Weiner when he chose to exhibit the outline of his hardware rather blatantly on twitter.

Many women in certain tribes of India do not care too much for all this nonsense about hiding their breasts and thus do not wear any upper garments. It is all in the mind. It is said that only higher caste Hindu women covered their breasts to show their superiority others just roamed about top less. No one stared at the common breasts; it was the hiding that made the upper caste breasts attractive. Let us have more of this dress malfunction and take it in our stride so ‘that, surfeiting the appetite may sicken, and so die’ as per Shakespeare.
